UTHM Bitara (Advanved Centre for Continuing Education) —formerly known as the Centre for Continuing Learning and APEL (PPBA). The centre was established through the merger of the Center for Continuing Education (CEC) and the UTHM APEL Center, effective January 1, 2022. It operates under the purview of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International) and is responsible for planning, managing, and implementing lifelong learning programs at UTHM, with the goal of generating income for the university.
The roots of UTHM Bitara trace back to 2006, when the Center for Continuing Education (CEC) was established on July 17. In 2016, the CEC’s part time Program Unit was transferred to the Center for Academic Development and Training (CAD), while its Professional Program Unit functions were taken over by UTHM Holdings Sdn. Bhd.
In August 2017, CEC was placed under the Office of the Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Financial Sustainability). On January 1, 2021, CEC was realigned under the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), paving the way for the formation of UTHM Bitara.
